High stress, burnout, upper management bullies
Pros
It's a paycheck. The idea of being able to provide good care to patients is noble but not realistic with the continual additional responsibilities, extensive travel, and super hero expectations.
Cons
Everyone I work with is trying to find a way out. Everyone. The turnover is very high and understandable given the impossible expectations. Lots of activities are unpaid. For instance, there is a daily meeting of 30 minutes for which there is no compensation. No overtime paid although it is expected almost weekly. This company fires employees at a whim, generally due to personality conflicts--aka power trips--by upper management. The ever increasing documentation takes away from true patient care. Other HH agencies do not require repetitive, ridiculous documentation.
