      Pros

      In todays economy, having a job to go to is very important. If the economy weren't as bad as it is right now, I would be long gone from Amedisys !!

      Cons

      It's all about numbers, Medicare approval, documentation.......this company doesn't seem to care that good pt care is not given in the way it should be. Being up til midnight every night finishing paperwork is on YOUR time, they don't pay you for your time after hours. Any clinician who claims to be able to see 7-10 patients a day and get all their paperwork done on time and transmitted is not being honest with themselves !

      Pros

      Hospice is a calling and I am fortunate to be able to have a career as well as answer my true calling. The local care center has a gifted team. The patients and teammates are the best part of the job.

      Cons

      Balancing home and work life. Hospice is not like home health- visits should take more time since these people are dealing with end of life issues. It is not and should not be task driven. These individualized patient needs and time allowance for this should be considered.

      The pros of this company are gone

      Cons

      They are understaffed and everyone is overworked and underpaid. Corporate people are all new and recruiting help is a joke. They promise every week they are getting us help and they come back saying "they cannot find anyone for our location yet". When they do send us people to hire they are unqualified and dangerous for patient care.
