Pros

As a flight attendant is was able to see most of the U.S. as well as Canada and Mexico. Met wonderful people from all over the world.

Cons

The pay is terrible, management is completely out of touch about what really goes on at the airport. Long days and short nights. I stayed exhausted 24/7.

Pros

As a Fleet Service Clerk, pay begins at a little over $10 part time (pretty good). You get about a dollar increase each year till you top out (don't recall what the top out is, varies for PT/FT). Seniority is very important - your shift, vacation, and other things go off of it. You have the ability to CS Off or CS Work, which means you can pick up other people's hours or give up your own. In essence, you can create your own unpaid vacations, or work as much as you want to (even as a part timer.) The job itself is really not complicated. Health benefits are quite good considering what most companies offer nowadays. Flight benefits are great to have - but standby travel can be difficult so beware during high seasons. This is a unionized position. There are many internal positions you can apply for, and one has the ability to transfer to other cities if they have openings. In the right environment (and station) the job can be satisfying when you are working with good people and the work gets done the right way.

Cons

-Work can be heavy and frustrating at times -You may be given a mandatory overtime extension due to weather or other delays. -Threat of layoff is always present -Depending on what city you work, some co workers can be VERY difficult to work with, and the higher their seniority, the lazier some can be. -If you are low on seniority, expect bad days off for several years. Don't expect mornings for a long, long time. -Seniority is a BIG deal -Big divide between Union and management -Though they have gotten better, many members of management are very ignorant and are on constant power trips.

Pros

The only reason I can think of working for this Company is for reasons of work schedule flexibility.

Cons

Sharply declining pay in "real" terms - most employees have experienced an 17% pay cut during Bankruptcy reorganization on top of a 30% pay cut back in 2003. Employees have seen "real" pay decline by almost 50% over the last decade. Pension plans have been "frozen" and no longer exist for future employees. Monthly Medical Insurance premiums have recently quadrupled. Travel benefits (the reason most people go to work for the airlines) are virtually worthless these days because you travel standby and nearly all flights these days are routinely oversold. Hostile Labor Relations Very poor overall employee morale
