Pros

The division I worked for had a lot of great wonderful and caring people. Benefits are over all pretty good compared to other companies I have worked. They encourage their employees to travel.

Cons

There is very little vision on the part of management to bring AIFS into the future to be successful. From what I saw the management that is currently in place has been in place to long and feel that doing the same thing year after year will get them better/different results. It is strange that each department has their own system/platform and that they don't develope one platform that would work across all divisions as they esstianlly do the same thing which is place foreigners into placements here in the States other than their study abroad programs, but one platform could handle that as well. They need also need to find a better marketing strategies, having people make cold calls all day/night is not the best way to drum up business anymore.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We are sorry that you felt that HR didn't care as we truly do care about our co-workers and making AIFS a great place to work. We handle our exit interviews through an anonymous questback survey so that everyone can feel comfortable being as honest as possible and we can track all the responses to try to find areas for improvement. The link was included in your termination letter and is open. We invite you to take the exit survey so that your opinions will matter as we explore areas for improvement. We are also redesigning the review process for 2016 and we will include reviewing managers in the discussion. We encourage all staff to speak to HR whenever they feel uncomfortable so that we can address issues of concern and will make more of an effort to reach out to staff while they are here to try to deal with any concerns rather than allowing good employees to leaving feeling unheard. Best of luck in your new position!

Pros

Very relaxed atmosphere, very nice co-workers, can wear jeans/casual clothing, good benefits, good institutional effort to keep employees happy, office complex (as of 2014) includes free gym with sauna. I had a great relationship with my co-workers and my supervisors. I had freedom to expand my role and take on new tasks.

Cons

My position did not have room for growth and was not my desired career field, otherwise I was very happy. I did not make a ton of money but it was my first job out of college, so that was expected.

Thank you for your feedback! We are aware that in several departments the structure is a bit flat and with long term employees there is lower turnover which can affect promotionaly opportunities, and we look forward to finding a solution in the future to that challenge. We strongly encourage not only the expansion of roles for high performers but also transfers/promotions within the company to other departments. Due to the nature of our business we tend to pay around market value but not above. As part of the compensation package we hope that the benefits and perks help to bridge the gap. Best of luck in your new career field!

Thank you for leaving feedback! Unfortunately when we moved to the new building in late 2013 we did give up the ease of public transportation from downtown Stamford for a bigger space that would allow all staff more access to each other in a professional, fun environment. The office park does provide shuttle service to and from the Stamford train station, however, that system is certainly not perfect. We will continue to work with the corporate park to do whatever we can to improve the service. Please feel free to contact HR directly with any other suggestions or ideas.
