Great for a first job, not so great for a long term career!

Pros

Company has a terrific CEO and this is a great job for a person right out of college. I would suggest it to any new grad interested in cultural study. Colleagues in the UK/Germany/Poland are terrific. The company is really committed to cultural study programs and takes it very seriously. There is some opportunities to travel. Great teamwork. Au Pair in America is a well run team with excellent management.

Cons

Moving to a professional company from this job, you start to realize that the company culture, while "fun", is really unprofessional. Very unprofessional HR department. Low pay. Camp America team is questionably run and the management there is unprofessional Little opportunity for advancement, pay grades ALL over the place.

Thank you for leaving feedback! We hope that the positive aspects of the job outweighed any negatives that you experienced. We do strive to provide our staff with a "fun", casual environment and we realize that environment is not suited to everyone. We do not follow a "corporate" structure and that is not likely to change in the near future. Our HR Department went thru a major overhaul in late 2013/early 2014 and we aim to provide excellent customer service to all of our staff, including an open door policy. The HR staff aims to be "user friendly" for all employees. We strongly encourage any employee to talk to us whenever there is a concern so that we can address the concern immediately. We are not perfect but we are open to suggestions, criticisms, and concerns with a willingness to make changes as needed for the betterment of our department, our staff and the company.

Thank you for your feedback! HR is currently working to create a recognition program that will allow for acknowledgement and "accolades" for all staff who go above and beyond. We strongly encourage all employees to bring any concerns directly to HR staff so that we may offer guidance and assess any concerns that may need to be addressed. Although a "Rate Your Manager" formal evaluation is not currently offered we are looking into overhauling our current annual review process and we will take this suggestion into consideration. Thank you for all of your hard work. Without our dedicated staff AIFS would not still be around 51 years later providing cultural exchange programs to thousands of students year after year!

Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately this page is focused around the Stamford based staff and we do not have enough information or insight into the Sydney office to be able to address your concerns at this time. We suggest that you bring any concerns to the Syndey HR department for guidance.
