Pros

No pros that I have experienced, Looking for another job! Beware, I should have read up on Springmill Meadows an ASC community before applying. JCAHO tagged facilities, there's a reason!

Cons

Extremely understaffed, poor working environment, nursing ratio 25:1, CNA ratio 13:1! This company has the potential to improve but just doesn't respect it's employees or residents. Nurses frequently chart on events that don't occur, because there is no time to actually care for the residents. Medications and treatments are often documented as done, which are not actually done. Supervisors often are found having scheduled meetings after meetings to avoid performing actual work, leaving staff nurses to supervise cna's that don't want to be there. Often residents are not given their meals, because dietary staff are on a strict time frame to serve meal, clean up and then get out! Nurses not only pass meds for 8+ hrs, they have to pass meal trays, record consumption of meals/fluids (to qualify the facility for government funded food programs)! Residents that don't get a tray are forced to eat cereal or old soup, nurses then have to chart on multiple made up items in an inadequate matrix computer charting system that doesn't accurately record notes, nurses do 2-3 skin assessments on top of Medicare charting, take off physician orders, answer phones all while nursing supervisors, adon/don, ED, have social pow wows in the conf rooms. The nurses do all the work while senior management run around barking orders adding to the charge nurses already over burdonded schedules!
