where to start?, floor supervision is mostly non existent, they have the pre shift meeting with their respective cells, then disappear, assuming everything will go as planned, the leads are generally worthless, nothing more than yes men for the shift supervisor, poor quality cabinets leave the plant routinely, you can tell the lead, but why bother, its all about numbers going out the door, they would rather have a bad product leave the plant, have it sent back by an unhappy customer, give them a free replacement, plus pay UPS charges, then not send the cabinet that day, again its all about numbers..plant has bonus system, but the matrix to reach bonus levels are nearly impossible to reach, payouts are generally minimal, extreme favoritism is rampant, the brown nose gestapo is alive and well at Allegany!..HR dept. is incompetent, you will be called to the office on the slightest gossip about you, receive a written warning for something you did not do, but don't dare try to defend yourself, you will be branded as a hostile employee, they will then look for or make up reason to fire you, also have noted that once you have reached your top out pay, they will find something to complain about you, fire you and get a fresh victim in at the entry level pay and the cycle starts all over again, the point system for absences is medieval, you could be stuck behind a wreck and literally not be able to move, too bad you got pointed, snow 3ft high? too bad you're pointed, so I gotta say, American Woodmark is NOT a great place to work, the very high turnover rate is evidence, the plant is hot in the summer, due to the formaldehyde, you constantly have a headache, but they say its fine, tho they cant produce evidence, so if you enjoy being back stabbed, like incompetent managers and a worthless HR dept., this place is for you!
