Pros

-Massive company, at socializing you can easily rise through the ranks. - Good opportunity to get an agency job with no skills or prior experience.

Cons

-Lack of talented people compared to most other agencies. They hire right out of college, and if you stick around for 10-15 years you become a director. They brag about how long people stay at the company, but honestly, for an agency, that means people who work here do not have enough skills to get recruited in-house for the big companies. -They treat everyone like a college intern, I've never seen an agency micromanage people to this level. You have to bill at least 7.5 hours a day to CLIENTS. If you don't do this at the end of the day you are locked out of crucial systems and your boss and your bosses boss get a message. Besides how insane this is it creates a toxic culture, if you don't get assigned enough work you look bad, then you start trying to jump on projects just to log hours for the day. This amounts to fraudulently billing clients so that you don't get locked out of the intranet for the day. I've seen directors and managers jump into a project they are not needed in just so they can log client time and look busy, I've seen devs estimate 30-minute tasks at 6 hours because they have no other work. - The owners truly treat this company like a retail store or some kind of insurance call center. They harp on remote work constantly and frequently reference "Leakage" and words you would hear in retail to explain that their staff is not working 100% of the time. The client base is pretty horrible. This is not a cutting-edge agency; they are not doing anything innovative or cool, they don't have much appeal other than saying Christian Conservatives own it, and they are "Family owned". So you quickly find out that they get the bulk of their business on that selling point. You will be building websites for companies that share the same values and, thus, are usually a nightmare to work with.

Thank you for your feedback. While it's disappointing to hear about your experience, we do appreciate the opportunity to provide some clarity. First, we are happy to have some of the best clients anywhere, including United Airlines, WeatherTech, Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), Werner Ladder, the Green Bay Packers, and many others. These relationships reflect the trust and respect our work has earned in the industry. Regarding your comments on hiring, we want to emphasize that we welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience levels. While we do hire some talented individuals right out of college, the vast majority of our employees bring significant professional experience with them. We're committed to fostering a team that reflects a variety of skills, perspectives, and talents. It’s also important to mention that many or our customers seem to really like the work we do for them. Our Net Promoter Scores (NPS) are higher than they've ever been, and we’re thrilled that so many of our clients love the work we’re doing together. With regard to remote work, the issue of going back to work in an office is a challenge that is being faced by many companies globally. Leading organizations like Apple, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs are taking similar approaches to us – to foster more teamwork and innovation. To ensure we’re aligned with these values, it’s important to note that even our owners work in-person and do not work remotely, though we do provide all of our employees with flexible options. We recognize that no workplace is perfect, but we’re confident in the path we’re on and we’ll continue to strive to make this a great place for our team and clients. If you have concerns, you’re encouraged to address them directly with ownership. They’re open to discussing any issues and providing clarity on matters you may not fully understand. People that are willing to speak up for themselves are much more valuable to a company and the culture than those that hide behind anonymous reviews. In the end it may help your career whether it involves staying with the company or not.

No career growth, little reward, high turnover

Pros

The people. If you decide to pursue a job at AmericanEagle.com, you will meet some amazing and friendly people who want to see you succeed.

Cons

1.) High turnover - Never have I been a part of a company where I saw so many people get hired and then leave in under a year. Before I left, they had let go of over 15 colleagues within one month’s time. Even more people were let go after I left. 2.) Micromanagement - timecards and billable time have been a huge issue with AE, however, when it gets brought up to senior management, it always gets brushed off and ignored. You are watched constantly with how much time you bill to a client, which can many times lead to poor quality and rushed work 3.) Little to no career growth - They will tell you there are plenty of career opportunities within AmericanEagle.com, however those roles are almost never clearly defined and the path to advancing your career can be extremely difficult. In the many years I worked at AE, never once was chosen for a promotion despite being put on larger and more difficult clients. They would hire people outside the organization for cheaper for the senior/manager roles 4.) Little to no reward. Job satisfaction and morale is extremely low - AmericanEagle at any time will put you on an unreasonable amount of clients to where you either work an exorbitant amount over your 40 hours or push due dates farther back. This has led to low morale within the company as expectations are unrealistic and the rewards are far and few between. There are almost non existent rewards for all the hard work you do and the money you put into Mike and Tony’s pockets. The raise they tried to give me this year didn’t even cover the cost of living adjustments and was quite frankly infuriating. 5.) Management is out of touch with reality — Despite starting a digital marketing agency, the owners truly have no idea what goes on in the digital marketing department and what it takes to succeed in a digital marketing channel. They only see dollar signs, and despite your efforts, they will terminate you for not delivering overpromised worked that the sales people sell these poor companies. Reality does not exist in their minds. 6.) They are not an employee centric company and will do whatever it takes to sell a client their services.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. At Americaneagle.com, we are incredibly proud of our dedicated and talented staff. While there is always room for improvement, we believe our team and workplace culture are key strengths. It’s important to note that our industry typically experiences a turnover rate of 10-15%. We are proud to say that our rate is significantly below this benchmark. We have nearly 250 team members who have been with us for five or more years—a testament to our organization's strong bonds and opportunities. Additionally, five of our employees recently celebrated an extraordinary milestone of 25 years with the company, highlighting their commitment and passion for what we do. Turnover at Americaneagle.com consists of both voluntary and involuntary departures. It’s worth mentioning that we have never conducted a mass layoff. Much of this year’s turnover has been related to individuals exploring entirely different career paths outside our industry, a factor largely beyond our control. We have also let go of non-performers. We always strive to support career growth, and our training department develops structured career paths paired with extensive internal and external training materials. These efforts will continue to expand as part of the upcoming review cycle to ensure our employees have the tools and resources needed for personal and professional development. Finally, we prioritize recognizing and rewarding employees who consistently go above and beyond and approach their roles with positivity and dedication. We provide excellent raises every year. Our employees' contributions are the backbone of our success, and we deeply appreciate everything they bring to the company. Thank you for sharing your perspective.
