Pros

Nice office area Benefits Nice view in Des Plaines Generously lets all employees eat together at Fogo De Chao once in awhile.

Cons

Was promised they would train me on how they operate. But when I started they didn't teach me anything, didn't have me do anything, and weren't training me. I guess the person who was supposed to was too busy. After a month or 2 of this, she expected I should be caught up in everything.... yeah no I wasn't. On top of all that I had ADD.. so I needed things explained at a good pace to begin with and probably continuing because I can be a little slow at times. about 3/4's of a year in they seemed worried about my performance (I was barely trained... so what can you expect), and they suspiciously sent me to the Chicago location for awhile to get training. So yay... had to travel every day from the suburbs while I suspected they were planning on letting me go. Other employees didn't interact or invite me to anything like they were not expecting me to be there long. After being trained in very random things and actually catching up, they decided to let me go. In that firing room, they said I could at least use them as a reference. I didn't believe them. So I hired someone from Fiverr to call them as a recruiter to ask them what they thought of me as an employee, and they claimed to not even know me or anyone by my name having worked there. So yeah, crappy experience.

Thank you for submitting this review. We are saddened to hear that you were not satisfied with your training and onboarding. Over the past 2 years, we have expanded tremendously on our training department called Eagle Academy. We now have a Learning Management System consisting of several training courses to guide new employees through their first few weeks at Americaneagle.com. We have also developed a mentorship system where a mentor or manager meets with the new employees at the 30/60/90 day and 6 month and 9 month mark along with weekly meetings to review the new employee’s customized onboarding plan based on the projects they are assigned and their current skillset. We are sorry to hear that you felt it necessary to hire a 3rd party to get our thoughts on your performance. It is possible that your call may have been directed to the wrong person, unable to verify your employment. Please know that even still you can reach out to us at humanresources@americaneagle.com if you have any concerns you wish to address to us directly. We hope you are doing well and appreciate your feedback.

We appreciate you taking the time to complete your review. We thank you for the feedback and only wish you would have brought up these perceived issues while you were employed with us as we’d never tolerate a workplace that was anything but fair and equitable. Regarding turnover, the facts are completely contrary to your accusation. We're proud of the incredibly low employee turnover we have - well below industry average – as well as the diverse background of the many men and women who work here. If there was a shred of evidence to back up your baseless claims, we wouldn’t have over 100 staff members that have been with us for over 10 years. The company culture embedded within the organization is one of fairness and positivity. We wish you the best of luck in the future.

Pros

- Extremely talented staff, great people to work with - Develop a number of valuable skills in tech world - Ample opportunity with big-name clients from get-go - Competitive salary and great benefits package - Often promote from within

Cons

- Timecard system that micromanages every minute of your day, squeezes every ounce of profit out of employees and adds unnecessary level of stress - This leads to silly requirements like needing to take half-days for doctors appointments if you can't squeeze them in in an hour - Not enough operations staff to keep up with sales team successes; project teams cut corners to get projects out door due to backlog, put client services teams at disadvantage and cleaning up messes as a result - Company translates R&D costs to client; site features can be sold before teams are sure how to execute them - Not enough HR staff to hire resources needed - Employees extremely overworked, stress levels very high - Conservative views of upper management make for uncomfortable work political atmosphere (for instance, Fox News on every day in cafeteria when Cubs not playing) - Lack of diversity in management positions
