Pros

~Parking Provided ~Training & Development: They care about your career path and abilities ~ASPiRE provides management training ~Free LOMA class/tests to learn more about insurance (and you get a small bonus for passing tests) ~I enjoy the truly people I work with ~Every department makes an effort to do work outings and team building ~The Holiday Party is AMAZING ~The American Royal BBQ is also amazing ~Americo participates in Kansas City Corporate Challenge. I like that I have the opportunity to play sports with my colleagues and earn BeWell points for my Health Benefits ~HSA account is great and the company does match a certain amount ~401K the company also matches a certain amount ~Human Resources has been helpful anytime I had questions about benefits/salary/medical/training/people concerns ~Raffles for tickets to sporting events, concerts, museums, etc. ~ Downtown, easy places to walk to for eating or after work festivities ~ Since Americo is a smaller company they have a lot of opportunity to provide A lot of little different perks that add up. ~ There is always so much to learn at this company and they have the support to help you learn knew things. There are many employees that have been here for many years and there is a reason they stick around. I have seen people start in one position and move to different departments when positions open. Americo is good about promoting within and rewarding those who show their hard work and commitment. I can see myself being here for quite some time.

Cons

~Some departments require a particular work schedule -like 8:30am-5:00pm and aren't that flexible (depends on department for flexibility) ~Depending on where you live/time commute can be an inconvenience

Pros

Great company to start and grow your career. There is a leadership development program that gives you great exposure to executives in the company and helps foster relationships with your peers who are in the program as well. I love the work/life balance in the company because we work 37.5 hours in a week instead of the standard 40 hours. There are open lines of communication with leadership, and you can see your ideas come to fruition.

Cons

The company is still conservative in the social media presence; however, this is good because it helps mitigate risk.
