This list genuinely affected my work and how I performed.
• Management is NOT communicative, it was literally pulling teeth just to get someone to communicate with you (unless they had something to say to you, if at all, always negative). But if you needed them, good luck. It was unfortunate given the provided technology. Texts, calls, and emails were useless. The nearest base with management was three hours away, so it feels like you’re stranded. And when servicing a not so friendly customer, or not having the supplies you need, that can cause a lot of issues along with feeling that management does not care to make time for you.
• The supplies/work equipment.
This was a MAJOR issue. When I first started, the truck they provided was trashed and reeked of cigarettes, and none of the “equipment” was in functioning condition. The jack stand was broken, the compressor had a massive air leak, and there was no 1 inch torque wrench provided for torquing tires. Amerit claims to be a “shop on wheels”, but my entire time working there was spent having to depend on my customers shop supplies to complete my job because none of my equipment was in good standing. And when I asked for better/repaired equipment, it was a broken promise of getting it repaired.. they refused to get me a bench vice because of it “being too expensive”.
Lastly, the overall environment and how you will feel being an employee here. My advice to the person reading this? Steer clear. Even though the company is focused around technicians, you will not feel appreciated nor taken care of. It’s little stuff like a hat, hoodie, or even the time of day from management that helps you feel like they care.. Amerit lacks even the basics in that regard.
