Pros

Good salary & benefits: health insurance, life insurance, short and long term disability

Cons

Top heavy claims review management. Field offices have limited authority so jumping through hoops for claims strategy and settlement funds is frustrating.

Declining company values

Pros

-Great benefits at first. Then the company slowly started to pinch away at benefits overtime to where it’s now bare minimum. But you, as an employee, don’t feel it too much due to how slow they’re removing it until you realize how much more you’re paying out of pocket. -remote work at first. Mostly due to the pandemic. Now the company is slowing making people return to the office

Cons

- company culture is toxic. All the way up to the executive board. The office feels like high school part 2. Miserable people, including supervisors and management, projecting their insecurities, making a normal job much worse. This is the type of job where you have to fake it to make it. Because there is no genuine people. They all play the game to survive. Promotions come from personality not skillset. If you don’t play the game, you get the insecurity projections and the work will increase due to the pettiness of supervisors and management.

Pros

I really enjoyed my time working for Amica Insurance. Unfortunately the pandemic really impacted my department making it a difficult place to work. I did leave during the pandemic, but I’m sure things are back to status quo. I was paid very well, and had frequent raises, many bonuses. They had lots of fun events and activities all free to employees and sometimes their family members too. Health insurance was great too, and very affordable. Generous vacation days, paid holidays off. Cafeteria food was subsidized by the company and super cheap. If you got the “healthy option” it was even less. The culture was great and I truly did enjoy my time there. The CEO is a kind man who takes care of his people. He works right on campus along side everyone else and will frequent company outings and activities. It was hard to see the pandemic take its toll.

Cons

Systems were a bit outdated, and when they did try to update them, it was not a fun experience. They are a bit behind in the times with technology in some departments. Schedules could be better, but holidays off was much appreciated.
