Pros

This used to be a good company to work for.

Cons

Been with Amica many years. I was proud to say I worked there. It was about service to our customers. Now it is about numbers. Training is decent but the systems are deplorable and they are all new. Absolutely un achievable expectations! Now we are expected to work many weekends also. Us old timers did not sign up for this. Managers are useless. Too busy on cell phones to take any calls but will come find you if you need a minute to regroup due to the stress.

Thank you for your review. Please know that we are currently looking into long-term solutions for Saturdays. Additional weekends are a short-term solution that enable us to maintain superior service in the midst of increasing phone volume. Regarding the systems that we currently employ – we are always working to improve the efficiency of our technology and the workflows that come with those systems. We work closely with CIS and each of the business units to ensure that fixes are implemented regularly to address defects. If you have specific feedback that you’d like to discuss regarding the technology being used, or if you have any additional comments that you did not include in your review, we welcome you to send us an email at employeefeedback@amica.com as we’d be happy to address your concerns. Thank you.

Pros

Immediately vested in 401K after 30 days. Hour lunch break. Most holidays off.

Cons

The main issue is that you are told that you are an insurance sales rep while in actuality you are a glorified customer service rep. Commissions are paid a flat rate of $25 per policy regardless of how much the premium is and is paid on a "one and done" basis. You will spend majority of your day servicing policies and maybe 10% of your time is actually writing new business. Their CRM is antiquated and you will find your self cleaning up others messes constantly because they are not paid enough to be a one stop solution for all customer inquiries.
