Pros

Benefits to include PTO time which expands the longer you are there. Tuition reimbursement.

Cons

They allow WFH options for people whose offices closed but not for open offices. Even though some of those employees should not be working from home. Those who have been working here for 5+ years and get their work down and are in good standing with the company should have more than 1 day a week WFH. We have lost probably about 50% of our company in the last 6 months because management is not rethinking their decisions. They based WFH off of “research” with other financial institutions such as JP Morgan and Fidelity. However those institutions require in person transactions. Insurance does not. They also stated that they want to become more modernized but cannot seem to figure that out with work from home. They say people can be replaced but that’s not true. Positions can be, but if you continue with this mindset you will end up without good employees.

We’re sorry to hear you feel this way about Amica, and we’d like to discuss your feedback with you. While some positions do have the opportunity to work from home more frequently than one day per week, we consider our company’s culture to be best experienced in person. We’re always listening and we value the feedback that our employees share, so if you’d like to speak with us about this more directly, please email us at employeefeedback@amica.com. Thank you.

Pros

Benefits, that's about it really.

Cons

Amica has turned into a joke of a company. I don't know how anybody could be happy working here anymore with the way the employees are treated. Actions speak louder than words. The micromanagement is at a level I could have never imagined, forcing employees back into the office is really not okay either. I can definitely say this is not the same company it was when I first started my career here. The employees that would work at Amica for decades have become a thing of the past, nobody in their right mind would stay here. I am eager to get out, and I can see that many others are in the same position. Amica just keeps throwing 'retention bonuses' at their employees to try to bribe them to stay, rather than actually making any positive changes that would make the working conditions better. They definitely do not listen to their employees or care about them.

Pros

Its a paycheck and benefits. But you get those things anywhere.

Cons

If you're reading these reviews to see if Amica would be a good fit for you, make sure you sort to see the most recent reviews. Look at the sheer number of negative reviews in the last year. Amica responds to every review with some canned answer about how they listen to their employees, but clearly they don't. AMICA DOES NOT LISTEN TO EMPLOYEES. We have stated time and time again that we want to work from home, but Amica has forced us all back into the office. Why? Because of culture we're told. What culture? The culture where entire groups of employees are allowed to work from home because Amica no longer wants to pay rent in that location, but the rest of us have to sit in tiny cubicles all day? The culture where we get to see senior management one time every three years, and they did this year's meeting REMOTELY?! So we have to be here in the office, but they don't? What a joke. So many employees have already left, many more are currently looking, and lo and behold, Amica can't hire anybody to replace those who left.
