      Great family, horrible parents

      Pros

      The people: the co workers were quite honestly the best part of the worksite. They were a family that made you want to go to work.

      Cons

      Management gets hired on from other outside companies and automatically think they know better than the employees. To quote one of the managers “I don’t need to know anything about the trains, i just need to know how to manage you people”. The Union is always gonna be there but sometimes it seems like they’re working against you.

      Good benefits, bad management

      Pros

      The benefits are pretty darn good. Pretty relaxed atmosphere many times and coworkers are friendly.

      Cons

      Management is horrible. Hiring processes is slow. Does not provide adequate resources to do job effectively. Cuts jobs, raises executive level bonuses. Overworked for the pay. It’s like pulling teeth to get more employees, instead receive contractors which are a short term fix.

      There used to be some, lately they’re hard to find.

      Cons

      Executive leadership is here to cut costs and leave. We’ve seen benefits and perks removed year after year. First it was the pension plan, then the medical got worse and cost more. Starting in January 2019 most employees are losing 6-8 days of PTO per year. The justification from the C Suite-“our research shows 10% of employees don’t use any sick time” Don’t worry about the rest of your company. Oh and C Suite bonus program rose from 35% to 75% of their salary at the same time they made the latest cuts.
