Pros

Paid $15.75/hour while in Delaware for 8 weeks of training also you get $25.00 a day for food. Once you graduate and go back to your crew base - you continue the $15.75/hour till you get 'marked up' (you are able to work the route or routes having learned the physical characteristics and unique aspects) - after that your pay goes up to 75% of your positions pay scale (around $19.00 or so) then you get a 5% increase every year for 5 years till you get to the full 100% pay for your job. Of course if you move up to full 'conductor' your pay goes up again.

Cons

Normally you start on the 'extra board' - where you are on call 6 days a week (one day a week is your designated day off) as long as you answer your phone for a job you get paid 40 hours each week. If you don't work when they call or don't answer a call - then you only get what you worked during that week.

Pros

Pros but just don't know anymore. its becoming more just a paycheck.

Cons

There is so much to complain about and I am sure that you've heard it all but this really affects me. never before have I worked for a company where coworkers threaten each other on a daily basis, put down each other and embarrass each other in public infant of coworkers and passengers. Its sad because the people that do this (and get away with it) are often (on the most part) liked by management and they know they can get away with it and nothing will be done. I can't tell you how many times I have come to work to go out on a trip just to be humiliated by coworkers and low level management. They form opinions on certain people... If they like you (You can do or say anything to anyone) and nothing will happen to you. BUT, if they don't like you, anything you do if blown way out of proportion, misinterpreted or taken out of context and either disqualified or fired. They can take a good hard working employee and just make them feel so very low. It is a very destructive environment and some of my coworkers shouldn't be dealing with the public. They are often extremely petty and childlike and draw you into there antics unknowingly. When you try and walk away they don't let down and become confrontational. You don't want to get into arguments and be called to the office (because of there behavior). You don't want to go to DRO, because your not exactly sure how to explain there behavior on paper - So you swallow it and hope it goes away. Its sad because certain elements of management like some of these people and you know they will take there side if you complain.
