Pros

Everyone helps learn the job. I just finished up conductor training and all the teachers want you to succeed.

Cons

I am a conductor for Amtrak. The cons are that you start out at 75% of your total wage. I feel if i am doing the job i should be at 100%.. I know other freight conductors start out at 100% when they are qualified. I do know that it more than likely a barging tool between the company and the union.

Not a great place to work

Pros

Very good retirement plan, offices in Wilmington are the nicest btwn Philly and DC

Cons

Clueless management, poor working conditions, pathetic pay. No defined career paths and very little room for advancement. My advice to any person considering taking an offer from this place is to negotiate the highest salary possible because your raises will average about 3% regardless of how well you're performed.

Pros

Helpful people who know what they are doing. Always work to be done. Room to grow. Good starting salary. Can make a decent living which is hard these days.

Cons

Heavy equipment, you can get hurt very easily if you aren't paying attention to what is going on around you.
