Pros

Plenty of opportunities within the company to work around the world

Cons

The way they treat employees creates stress, frustration and overall poor morale. Look at their turnover rate versus AB before the takeover. They profess great compensation for meeting targets, but set unrealistic targets so they never have to pay full bonuses. You can speak your mind only if it mirrors their culture. Question the culture and you will be gone in no time. Cost cutting takes priority over everything, including the emloyees and selling beer, AB used to be the most admired company in St Louis to work for. Now no one from the area wants to work there. That should tell you something.

Pros

Free Beer. Sports and music sponsorships, so you MIGHT get free tickets. If you are in your 20's you will be able to run things, since anyone with any experience has walked out or been fired.

Cons

If you are over the age of 40, I wish you luck. You will never be hired. Gray hair? Better dye it. A single female of child-bearing years? You will never have time to meet anyone, much less get married and procreate. And if you do have a baby, you will never see him or her. AB doesn't let you have a life outside of work. STAY the hell away from this place. I spent 18 years there, 5 of them under new management. They use and abuse their employees and do not care if you are happy. The engagement scores show how miserable the current employees feel. I had many good years there and walked away to another job.

Pros

I have progressed well through the organization. They believe in promoting from within and they offer a lot of training to qualified people (Six Sigma belts, etc). The money is average or higher (from what I have seen). If you are analytical, you are valuable. Fringe benefits are top notch. VIP for everything.

Cons

There is no work / life balance. This is an M&A firm owning a brewery. Result: bottom line is more important than people or product. Consistent pressure on sales team against competing and conflicting performance measures. Little to no bonus, though variable pay is touted as one of the best parts of the company. Youth coming into organization has little-to-no passion. This impacts the morale of the valuable tenured employees. Constant need to be aligned with the culture stands out as #1 most-valuable attribute - regardless of capability. Breeds a company of "yes" men and woman and doesn't create open discussion for progress. Close-minded and non-empathetic. Communication between most levels of leadership and the field has completely broken down. Wholesalers have lost faith due to regular shipping / logistics issues and continued price increases on products that already have volume challenges.
