Upper management, including CEOs flip almost as fast as burgers. 5 CEOs in 5 years. Focus is almost completely on Sales and not on employee happiness or retention. When issues are brought to management, the response is mostly, "What do you want me to do, or nothing is going to change." Sales over tech 100%. Sales will sell items with no clue on how they should work and give the tech group almost no requirements and scream when the system doesn't match what was in their personal vision. If the client is upset, instead of focusing on how to improve the situations, it must go down the line. Every. SINGLE. PERSON. needs to hear how upset the client is. Not only does this waste time, but puts added pressure on teams that want to have a quality product. Their is no accountability. Accountability does come down on tech, but if sales or marketing is to blame, nothing is addressed. Success is always given to the Sales / Marketing. So if tech takes a program and invents it, or enhances it to increase revenue. Sales will be called out and given kudos while tech is ignored. I have personally witnessed 2 - 3 sales people lose multi million dollar accounts and get promoted to VP. It doesn't make sense.
