Pros

It was a pay check. That is about the only "pro" I can give this place.

Cons

Where do I begin to start? All new hires in sales were promised company shares but this never happened. Turnover was unbelievably high. The average was over 1 firing or other sort of departure each month. You're lead to believe the product will sell itself but you can't give it away to management. 5pm meetings every Friday. Abusive upper management...it's amazing what one person in particular got away with. Some people would have to come up with "medical emergencies" just to evade management and take vacation due to the favorites getting special treatment. Departments do not communicate with each other so it's very awkward. You get a large sense of entitlement from the AMs and certain others. Only come here if you're desperate.

Pros

The company is growing. We recently acquired Prologic and almost doubled in size. Have 3 offices now and thousands of happy retailers working with us. In the last year, we signed some big retailers, many franchisee systems and in general really good brands. The office is buzzing, sales and account management are working closely together and now with the addition of Prologic’s team members it is really humming. Culture is great, lots of fun, snacks and in general very open environment. Everyone (including VPs and CEO) sit in the same big open space and all work together to make our clients happy.

Cons

It is a startup, so sometimes priorities change quickly and we release products which have some quirks – but I guess this is the nature of a startup that is not afraid to make mistakes and experiment – so the end result will be the best in class.

Pros

Where to start. I have been with AppCard for 5 years. This is Glassdoor, so I could give you all sunshine and lollipops about company culture, company perks and what a great company AppCard is, and a lot of that might be true in the eye of the beholder, but superficial. The unadulterated description of AppCard is that it is an undeniably incredible technology company that is bringing more of what use to be considered science fiction to life, arguably the technology might be a year or 2 ahead of what the market is adopting, but this is why being a part of this company is thrilling. It takes a special kind of person to be part of an emerging technology and working to bring it to market. What I love about this company is the people and the environment. So often I hear friends talk about their jobs and their companies and how each day is identical to the last and their job is just a job. In a startup you find those unique people that you find nowhere else. AppCard has assembled a team of some of the most creative and intelligent individuals I have seen. The environment is one with purpose, with each and every person working together for the common goal of bringing AppCard tech to the market and changing the way that businesses see marketing and offline data. No ball is dropped without 3 people running to support each other. Team is often a word used to describe a group of people that are part of the same organization, this does not do the group at AppCard justice, what I am a part of at AppCard is more akin to a family. When you join this company, you are greeted by people that are enthusiastically pleased to have another person joining the effort and each lending a hand to bring you up to speed. I think the biggest thing that I love about AppCard is the ability to make mistakes and try new things. In life, but in startup life in particular you are expected to make mistakes, if we knew all the answers, we would not be a startup. It is all about problem solving in this environment and finding the way to do something that no one else has figured out yet, it is extremely rewarding. This mantra extends from Senior Management all the way down. This can be difficult for some people swallow, we have had our fair share of people that wanted something easy, something they could do mechanically and not worry about solving problems, and I get that, it is a lot of pressure and for the disorganized individual, this is a nightmare, but that is why startups are not for everyone, and that is ok. I have been here for 5 years, and with each year the company evolves into something new and I love being a part of that.

Cons

We have evolved into a a company that serves franchises and Grocery stores, there is a lot of travel involved and I am not the biggest fan of flying.
