Pros

Great people, decent work/life balance, good product

Cons

Appian was once a great company with an amazing culture, but recent management changes have negatively impacted the organization globally. Career progression has become unclear, with no transparent promotion plans communicated for the past 2 years. Compensation remains below market standards and management struggles to articulate a clear strategy. The company is enforcing a mandatory 5-day in-office policy starting this September, reducing flexibility and promoting intensity. The most talented people are leaving and the retention is at an all time low.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're so glad to hear that you’ve had a positive experience with the people here – our team is truly what makes this company special. We’re also happy that you’ve found a good work/life balance and see the value in the product we build. We hear your concerns about transparency in promotions and compensation. To improve clarity, we’ve launched a new promotion process. We understand flexibility is important, and while the 5-day in-office policy aims to enhance collaboration, we acknowledge its impact. We’ll continue listening to support a productive, engaging workplace. Retention and culture remain priorities, and we’re committed to valuing and empowering our people. Thank you for your feedback.
