Pros

The company does have large corporate clients that do provide an income stream. The company is tight with the expenses. The company does try to do more with less. The company does try to do everything possible and impossible for the client. The company will try to deliver products on tight deadlines with minimal resources. Not sure these are actually Pros for individuals working at Apptricity, but they are Pros for the company itself.

Cons

There are no real exciting reasons to work here other than it is a job and it does provide income and you get the same basic paid holidays, vacation schedule and non-competitive health benefits. It's the legacy business set up dating back to the 1980's. If you want to work here and make an impact immediately, then you should be prepared to be disappointed. Financial control starts at the top and stays at top of the food chain. The other favorable posts (and I question if those are even authentic) seem to have a common theme of ...if you don't want to come to work to do some actual work, then don't work here. Really? I think most people in the industry go to work to do something special at work and not because they couldn't handle doing work. If you're posting those messages about being too weak to work with the strong, then please stop and don't criticize. You're not helping. Those who post unfavorable reviews are the ones who left Apptricity for more lucrative and interesting and rewarding work. It was not about the amount of work, it was about the lack of vision and genuine caring about the individual needs of your staff.

Review from a new developer.

Pros

Apptricity is a good place to start your career as a software developer. If you come into work willing to learn, you will do well here. They have a great training program that will teach you their software as well as good object-oriented programming practices. You can be a productive part of the company pretty quickly.

Cons

Turnover rate. Office politics. People get hired and quit so quickly you barely even get to learn their name. People who have been there for years seem to be very unhappy, so that is not a good sign.

Flying apart at the seams.

Pros

The technology stack is pretty good, and it's been a good place for junior developers to learn the trade. There are still some good people here, but for how much longer? I will say working here helped further my career.

Cons

There's quite a bit I could put here, but I'll try to hit the highlights. First, the turnover rate is outrageous. It's possible anyone who interviews you for a job here won't be around when you start. Also, those peoples' duties never get transitioned, leaving a big gap in the team. It's incredibly unstable and you'd do well to look elsewhere. A big con for me was working for people I considered unethical. Yes, they do the normal over-promise/under-deliver routine of many small software companies, but they also outright steal. The company was recently caught and penalized for pirating software. And yes, this is after Apptricity sued the federal government for the exact same thing. So clearly they knew piracy was illegal and chose to do so anyway. Do you want to work for a software company that steals software? One of the most common complaints you'll find in these reviews is management, and this one is no different. The lack of leadership here makes me wonder how the place has kept its doors open. Expectations are also wildly inconsistent. Some people are expected to work, while others can just say "it's too hard" and get their assignments handed over to someone more competent. That's probably why a lot of those competent people are walking out the door. Finally, benefits are terrible. Health insurance costs too much and covers too little. There's a 401(k), but Apptricity matches a whopping 0%, making it fairly worthless. There's no bonus structure outside of the executives (the same ones that just lost millions for pirating software). Vacation/sick time are pretty standard, however.
