Pros

- Salary and compensation is ahead of the curve - Realistic goals and expectations - Work remote, from the office, or even a hybrid - The company will support your professional growth - These are the leaders of in the frontier of document SDK technology. It would take an active effort to not make this company grow.

Cons

- Lots of acquisitions, but not so much merging yet creates a larger learning curve than needed - It may take a while before you can explain to your family what it is that PDFTron actually does

Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn new things, in a really supportive environment. All my team mates are easy to get along with and are very helpful. As we transitioned into WFH, this didn't change and the company was able to adapt very quickly, even keeping some of the cool activities like bi-weekly paid lunches to meet other people in the company. PDF and document processing may not sound super exciting as a web developer, but you'll be writing code that will be incorporated to many different customer applications in a multitude of industries, which is really cool! You'll be challenged to write code that is robust and well tested. Management is great and I feel they actually care about employee wellbeing. There's lots of freedom to work on stuff you think is important as long as you make a solid case for it.

Cons

One aspect of the job that can be a bit challenging is that developers have to also chip in and do technical customer support. This can be a bit overwhelming at first, especially if you've never done this type of thing. However, I will say that having a first hand interaction with users of the product helps you understand better how they are using APIs, and helps you gain a better sense of how to design them. And it's always very rewarding when you provide amazing support to our customers and they recognize it.
