Pros

The people are friendly and the hours tend to be somewhat reasonable for a startup. There isn’t really a culture of after hours calling for support and it tends to be an 8-9 hour day. The company tries to give a vibe of a cool new startup and provides things like free lunch on Thursdays during an all company meeting.

Cons

It used to be centered on the environment, but things seem to have shifted towards price savings for members. The notion of “clean and green” seems to have gone by the wayside and it’s just any other company at this point. It’s fine to have a change in heart, vision, or whatever it was that caused the shift, but it certainly has not been communicated to our team and definitely not to our users, so it feels- cheap.

Pros

It is a high growth tech start up doing good work in the energy field.

Cons

There's some questionable practices of offshoring a lot of work to the newly acquired company in India that is leaving an unsettled atmosphere in the US that has not been addressed by leadership. While it is high growth--the energy is more chaotic then fast pace with young leadership/management that makes it scaling at such a high rate--almost impossible and contributing to burn out. Pay is known to be under market value since it is a mission driven company...so take that into consideration. Very little POC representation. No career growth. No personal development or employee engagement programs (i.e. ERGs).

People Team Representative We’re sorry that your experience at Arcadia wasn’t what you expected. The pace at high-growth startups can be intense, especially in a nascent industry like climate tech. We are proud of the business Arcadia has built over the past 8 years, and of our ability to navigate a shifting market while scaling a high-performing global workforce.

Pros

Supporting clean energy is a plus and most employees are welcoming

Cons

They have no loyalty to people that have been there and helped shape a team. New employees that you train make more money than existing employees with less experience. Total joke. They care more about a profit than employee retention. Department leads aren’t managed at all and do whatever they want and morale is low.
