Pros

It is a growing small business that seems to have assembled all the required pieces to take off from here. The company did most things right which helped it get CMMI certification, major contract awards etc. You really have to wear a lot of hats if you work for any small company. The same is true for this company. The work environment is really great if you are passionate and motivated for the growth of your career as well as the company. The owners are pushing and at the same time do recognize and reward talents as well. You do get exposed and become proficient in multiple job categories which helps enhance your career growth.

Cons

The walk from parking lot to office is long.

Pros

I moved full time to Arch Systems after working as part time for them for over an year. My decision was vindicated from day 1 of my joining with the kind of support I got from the top management. 1. Opportunity to work with latest trends and technologies in the IT field: If you have a good idea and are able to prove the worth to the top management, they will support its use and provide the required tools and training. 2. No Place to Hide: In a small business if you are not able to cope up and do the work in a timely manner over a period of time (repeating offender) you will be easily pointed out, in the same way if you do a good job and complete the task in a timely manner that will also be noticed immediately and get rewarded. This gives an opportunity to grow in the company. 3. Easy accessibility to the top management. 4. Good Health Benefits

Cons

1. Small Office space, but they are moving into a larger space shortly.

Pros

I had a happy 5 year work history as a contract employee. I gave that up to work for Arch Systems as a part time as a Sr. Claims Analyst on a quality contract for which Arch is prime. Thus far, it's been a good decision. I worked briefly with a previous poster who said that this company is just good for paycheck. I strongly disagree. If all you want is a paycheck - go somewhere else that expects less of you. To work here you have to be smart, capable, committed and nimble. You have to want to work hard, support your team and rise to meet the challenges that come with servicing a government contract. When you get frustrated, and you will, you have to be professional and know enough to not to let YOUR issues become TEAM issues. The project team that I work with, including the sub-contractors, is collaborative and supportive. The owners clearly work very hard and pour their energies into the company. I don't think you can throw stones until it's YOUR name on the company and the buck stops with you.

Cons

Working for a small business, like Arch, is always a double edge sword: the benefits are great - like having daily access to the decision makers and seeing your ideas recognized and having your opinions heard. However, small businesses often make sudden course corrections without notice, so you have to be able to flex with changing company priorities. I can't comment on the adequacy of the benefit packages they offer since I don't avail myself of their offering.
