Pros

Global Launch is the division that teaches ESL to incoming international students. Great colleagues, stimulating academic environment

Cons

Global Launch functions separately from ASU as a whole. They hired around 20 new employees last summer (2015) and laid them off 8 months later. Really poor planning - no oversight of new programs, no clear set of expectations of employees. Very disappointing experience.

Pros

If you're going to school there, it's convenient to also work there to cut down on commuting

Cons

So much gossip going around due to how immature some of your colleagues are, they pay really poorly and don't give raises for good work, pay distribution is completely off- our manager made 6 figures and I was only earning $9 per hour. There was also no water in the office.

Pros

-Reduced tuition for yourself and spouse/children at all Arizona state universities -Great, knowledgeable coworkers -Great support network among your peers

Cons

-After the transition from AECP to Global Launch, a lot of poor choices have been made that have really negatively affected the program -Management doesn't care about the instructors. They seem more concerned about mining instructors for knowledge and after they're burned out, putting them into dead-end projects with little opportunity to grow -Challenging workload if you get a higher level course to teach -Variable schedule: Your work schedule changes every session, so be prepared to be flexible -Mandatory professional development/workshops during intersessions. Most of these are unhelpful and are an excuse to keep everyone at their desks and management happy -Future looks very uncertain for this program
