      Pros

      The National Guard will make a strong leader and the best version of yourself you could ever imagine. When people say "thank you for your service" I feel guilty because I feel like I should be the one thanking the people for paying their taxes and supporting us. You can have the world at your fingertips, but it's all up to you whether you want to reach for it. Free eduaction, cheap healthcare, retirement plan... and part time. Come on man...

      Cons

      Not the most efficient with time. And of course, it's the military so it could be a show stopper with your life outside of the Guard.

      Training and leading a diverse workforce; education and practical leadership experience; developing communication and presentation skills that will benefit you in a civilian career

      Cons

      Long work hours; as you get higher up the politics increase; still very much a good old boy mentality; promote and advance your peers
