Pros

The lunch is good. The people are nice, easy to bond because everyone is suffering together.

Cons

I thought that this would be a decent job for me as I just graduated from college. I was 100% wrong. This place is incredibly toxic and made me incredibly anxious for the first time in my life. Don't even think about walking in a minute later than 7AM. You will sit at your table next to 10 other people in an incredibly crowded space ( during a pandemic no less), and you will not move until 5PM. I felt guilty and judged for taking bathroom breaks, or even filling a water bottle. You will sit and make 100+ calls a day, and if you don't hit that metric, along with other challenging metrics (considering the state of the industry right now), you will get called out and embarrassed blatantly in front of your peers by the trainer. Oh and, if you aren't beyond the metrics by the end of "graduation", you will get fired. In addition, the recruitment team lies about the compensation. You will be paid hourly for the first multiple months, which ends up being below minimum wage considering the overtime worked (50+ hours a week/ always working after work if there are any issues). PLEASE, even if you are like me, and want to move to Chicago after graduation and need a job, do not work here. You will not enjoy your days at work and you will not enjoy your time out of work because you will be anxious about going to sleep in time to wake up and be in the office at 7AM the next day.

Pros

Very casual and young company. Easy to make friends and develop relationships with coworkers. Though, I believe this to be mostly a product of the extreme stress each training class goes through, which brings them closer. My manager in particular is a good guy and cares about his employees, but I can't say the same for the rest of the managers. Teams become close as they all deal with similar problems all day, another product of everyone dealing with the same stressors . Not really much of a pro, more of a neutral. I've seen reviews that say people often don't have your back. I find that to be true and untrue.

Cons

Lied to from the very beginning by interviewers and trainers. These lies involve how pay works. You make less than minimum wage for months. The commission system is borderline a scam. And they lie about what kind of hours you'll be working. Its a 24 hour industry. It's "conveniently" not said once during this process that you will be fired if you don't meet your metrics fast enough after you reach the floor. These numbers are attainable but pretty unrealistic in an industry that is currently struggling. Some of these metric come down to being lucky or unlucky too. Add to that, the fact the company is hiring too many people too quickly and there's a good chance you'll be struggling at the start with the added competition. Certain people in charge of new employees are clearly inexperienced and handle internal issues very poorly. HR is a joke. The turnover rate is insanely high. Did I mention two trainers got fired in the short time I've been working here and I've lost count of how many friends and coworkers quit or got fired. Oh yea and forget about life outside of work if you want to truly be successful.

Pros

- The lucky few can make a lot of money here. - Free catered lunches on Friday's + massages once a month. - C-level leadership knows how to make a buck.

Cons

Arrive is a learning experience - it's where you discover that not all sales jobs are created equal. For those considering Arrive, do yourself a favor and steer clear. This is a "hustle-hard or die" company. For most people, the job is not what it is promised to be. The employee turnover is extremely high and the workplace culture is toxic. Everyone is secretly planning their exit almost as soon as they start. The position is not as advertised. This is not a "sales" role. If you have freight on the board, more than 50% of your day will be spent on soul crushing operational work. You will deliver bad news most days, and answer for carriers who do not care about you or your customer. When you do make cold calls, prospects are not happy to hear from you. Some will say this is typical of sales, but not at this level. The industry is saturated - as a general rule, companies do not want more brokers. Arrive is not differentiated from other 3PL's, of which there are 15k+, who are all calling for new business. Selling is extremely hard. Inbound lead? Never heard of it. Company politics matter most. Your popularity translates to getting account handouts from management once people quit or are fired. Cold calling is emphasized heavily even though it does not lead to meaningful new business for most reps. Sales management will claim they have the employees interests in mind, but constantly micromanage and do not trust employees. Expect messages at 7:05AM if you are not online. If you perform, they love you. If you have any challenges or are not "bought in" you will be scrutinized until you quit or are fired.
