Pros

I consider Asbury Place a better place to work because once you have gone through your test of time, the dust settles down and you become a part of a family, giving you some level of job satisfaction, freeing you from petty gossips, and the possibility of imposed unwelcome separation.

Cons

While Asbury Place is a great place to work, once you have gone through your test of time, it seems to be just good for people who consider themselves as reaching their terminal point, having no desire of any further academic or career advancement. If any opportunity for career advancement exists at all, it is likely to to be available to inner circle mates and not to every employee, not even to mention minority.

Pros

The executive level managers I work for truly care about the residents and implement programs and services that continually enhance the quality of life for the residents and team members as well. Benefits are very comprehensive and every conceivable option is made available to team members to improve and maintain their health and work environment. Asbury has initiated a Culture Change program and they are in the forefront in TN as being one of the first. They recently won the LeadingAge Innovator of the Year Award, among others. They also have a Resilient Leadership and Mentoring program for employees that encourages, empowers and strengthens its team members. They are breaking down silos and it makes a huge difference for the employees. I am always amazed at the wealth of knowledge and passion for their work that the managers and Executive Directors exhibit. Overall, I love working here and feel great that I am working for a very caring partner in the non-profit community.

Cons

The areas that I would have listed here, such as communication between locations and training opportunities are already in the process of being addressed.
