Pros

It's a job. Get your experience and get the hell out of there.

Cons

Bonus is a joke. If we make it a top 5 record profit year and get a bonus that is less than half a day of OT (haha what's OT anymore, am I right?), it is a slap in the face, when the plant right next good pays out 10-20% of gross yearly income of each employee, for maintaining the standard.

Our people's career development is one of our highest priorities. This year we launched Ascend University with both online and in-person training for both technical and leadership skills, and we relaunched our mentoring program. Last year, we published our 2030 Vision, a set of nine sustainability targets, and two of the goals are related to career development. Our leaders are people too. If your leader is not regularly giving you opportunities for growth or constructive feedback on your performance, we encourage you to let your site leader or HR business partner know. Even leaders have areas they need to improve. - Osama Khalifa, sr. communications manager

Pros

-some great people to work with depending on your team -Ascend Cares is great, but the real reason is still corporate politics nevertheless -starting pay is decent until you realize you should just go look for better -corporate office is a decent environment to work inside of

Cons

Oh boy hold on to your horses, this is gonna be a big one. -bonus? yeah don't even think about it, like others said, no bonus for 2 years now -rampant office drama, some people are just rats and snakes, i digress -morale? all time low, just about EVERYONE knows this regardless of what site you're at -we've lost so many superstar people in the past months, think about why people are leaving for greener pastures, use some logic -all these new locations opening only look good on paper, reality sets in when you dive deeper into numbers (why are we expanding so rapidly when we cant even manage our current plants and operations?) -work/life balance. With all these people leaving, it's very obvious that some people are taking more than one position load and many teams are running very lean. Help them out, stop spending money on empty ambitious low reward investments. Instead, invest into people and your culture to keep those who carry their load and more. -if you've worked at Celanese, just show up and they'll get down on their knees to give you everything you want to get you in the doors even during a hiring freeze. it's part of work morale to be telling everyone that they are winning the "war" between the two companies. -plant reliability and quality? yeah non-existent. good luck looking after 1950s equipment that are patched with duck tape and barely running -top down communication is completely disconnected. there is absolutely no feedback from the top because everything is so old fashioned and we're still in the stone ages compared to companies in the same industry, wake up and look at the shambles we're in and realize we need to take the company into the 21st century!
