Pros

• The culture lives up to what’s advertised. People are happy, customer-centric, and genuinely want to connect with each other to build something awesome. • The seamless flow between customer-facing departments. We’re under the same umbrella and are able to pivot between areas as needed. • Nice Days are fantastic, and it is extremely cool that I was granted some on day 1. • All employees have an "Employee Spotlight" distributed so everyone gets the opportunity to get to know them! • Welcome packet that included AskNicely socks (!!) plus a sweet backpack. • Lunch with Executives program and general accessibility to leadership has been enormously refreshing. • The December Town Hall had some very difficult news that, if presented the wrong way, had the potential to cause panic among employees. I think that the news was done with a great deal of care to contain any negative feelings from the employee base. I thought it was awesome that it was presented in the same breath as the game plan for what we’re going to do to avoid any disruptions. We are clearly solutions-oriented as a company. (Related: Cool that we have such regular check-ins with leadership including a weekly All-Hands and monthly Town Hall) • Teija (Director of People) lives and breathes culture within the team and is continuously nurturing a sense of closeness which is especially challenging right now. Every time I turn around, there is something new and exciting on the calendar. • The company feels very much alive. There is so much growth from exciting initiatives and it feels like the company is taking a new breath every time we shift and pivot. It is thrilling! • Annual personal development stipend (HUGE bonus that we have a list of suggestions for how to use it so it doesn’t go to waste) and a WFH stipend to make sure the employee base is always growing and developing, as well as staying sane in these isolated times. • Each member of our team has a concurrent project in motion to enhance our department that we are each very passionate about. It is wonderful to do 30-60-90 goal planning and considering a project I wanted to lead. • I feel very valued by my team and I feel my voice matters. My team is astoundingly awesome. • The product is so freaking cool, so flexible, and makes our customers HAPPY! • Commuter benefits that will save me close to $3K/year when we return to the office. • That absolutely stunning office that I cannot wait to work in one day! (HUGE bonus: dogs!)

Cons

• We could hugely benefit from higher-powered computers. (The good news is that there is already an initiative in motion to upgrade computers) • I am still quite new so still learning many things about the company (not really a con, but good for context)

Pros

AskNicely is a really well-built software. Our product team constantly makes improvements. My co-workers are awesome. One of the best things about AskNicely is the company culture. The sales leaders are awesome. They are knowledgable about sales methodology and always have our backs.

Cons

I wouldn't necessarily call this a con but could be perceived as a con if you haven't worked in a startup before. Things are always changing. It's a very dynamic environment.

Thank you! It's awesome to see you call out how teams support each other to keep moving forward which is just so critical when, as you point out, things are always changing. The Maori people of New Zealand have a proverb that goes "He aha te mea nui o te ao, he tangata he tangata he tangata." The meaning roughly translates as "What is the most important thing in the world, it is the people, the people, the people."
