Culture is a huge emphasis at this company. Focus is on doing the right thing for patients. Innovation and collaboration are valued.

Cons

Common challenges to the pharma industry. Cost, access to products, access to accounts. These are not unique to this company. Relatively flat org chart means fewer promotions.

Pros

Great company, great and very talented people, great overall culture, very generous benefits package, great top management including new Americas CEO, very committed to corporate social responsibility and really enables the employee to get involved and make a difference.

Cons

Very, very complex politics and very toxic dynamics in some departments that has led to some great talent leaving. I see little chance for this changing. The generous benefits package is the golden handcuffs and it keeps the wrong people in the organization.

401k matching is better than average in the pharma industry

Cons

This company has an abnormal work environment, e.g. employees spied on each other. Management are clueless and incompetent and treats talents very badly. As a result, turnover rates are high. There is no professional growth within the company since the management is so insecure about their own positions and power. I would not recommend this company unless you are absolutely desperate for a job in the Chicago area.
