Pros

The benefits/pay are great and you get around 22 days per year off for vacation.

Cons

The point system for attendance where you get points even with a Dr's note stating you are too contagious to be in public is ridiculous. Every bonus I have received has been late due to an "error" in the payroll department and can take upwards of a month to receive. Management can't keep staff in stores due to the oppressive nature of this company so repair centers are constantly understaffed and over worked. If you are good at your job, you get to do everyone elses' job as well with no extra pay, just extra staff meetings you are required to attend to explain why the stores numbers are so low, even if you are not a lead or any type of management. The actual management has no sense of what is happening at a store level and is constantly changing or updating the rules, often with no communication and any complaints seem to fall on deaf ears. They just repeat, "It'll get better," and continue to let the repair centers unravel and their overworked employees suffer while adding more responsibilities to their plate.

Pros

The company has different organizations within the company with better work culture than the call center portion.

Cons

Sexual harassment, ignorant and low level of intelligence in the leadership, unprofessional ism, favoritism, and a bad vibe environment. If you want to get promoted you must have sex with a manager or have a personal relationship with a manager. The whole call center environment is like high school where managers and employees are sleeping with each other and they only work to promote the ones who are sleeping with the leadership team.

Pros

Great opportunities to introduce new technologies to the company Lots of training opportunities and I can attend at least one major conference per year which has been very beneficial Opportunities to code in multiple languages Challenging business problems to solve which often need solutions leveraging newer industry technologies Flexible work schedule Talented coworkers Work is in Nashville which is big pro for me Company has to support locations across the globe, and I have enjoyed working with people of other nations Solutions needed for multiple platforms and cloud providers Company has opportunities in a lot of areas Good pay and stock options, but not very clear on when stocks are granted.

Cons

Promotion frequency for engineering vs management tracks seems far too slanted towards the management side Merit pay increases seem to be below industry average Asurion is a very fast paced environment at times which is not for everyone, and can be difficult to get a good work/life balance. However a good balance is achievable and carries a lot of weight as to why I’ve stayed with the company over the years. That balance took me some years to figure out, and I’m ok with working at odd hours and spending time working on weekends when needed. A lot of stressful years were put in before I reached a balance so I need state that for clarification. Also my first few years with the company the growth rate was really straining the employees. Employees are far less strained overall these days, but the pressure and flux can be overwhelming for some.
