Cons
Not enough responsibility given to grads and assistant engineers to allow them to progress in their career. Made redundant on a short sighted decision based on the quickest way they could cut people when the first month of the year had poor results. Atkins claim to be easy to move through and try different departments, but I was trying for a secondment for the full 4 years I worked there and it was only in the last year when my sector was in trouble that I was able to secure one. The redeployment efforts during my consultancy period was a joke. I was never utilised to my full potential despite trying to chase work constantly.
