Pros

pay and benefits pretty good, that's how they get you in.

Cons

when you first start at atria it seems like this awesome company. Once you are in it you see who they really are. From corporate to community they operate on a bully level. They will try to push you out if you are not what they want and are not nice about it. Nobody really feels secure with their job no matter what your position. At the community level the Executive Directors are very well compensated and they will do whatever it takes to be sure they look good, meaning look out because nobody has your back. I am one of many who feel this way as you can see with other reviews. It is not a place for long term employment unless you are a higher rank and buy into their bully culture. There is little respect and value and they do not care about work life balance at all. In addition, they charge astronomical increases to their residents 10% without blinking an eye and they do not care. Not a company to be proud to work for. If you need experience get it and get out.

Pros

I grew attached to a couple of residents, who are definitely dead now.

Cons

This was an exploitative environment: I worked seven days a week and still made part-time pay, with no benefits. There were no protocols for when I was attacked by someone with dementia. There was favoritism and gossiping. There was no room to move up in the company. There was no allowance for a second job or school for me.

Pros

Serving the elderly and being with them at the end of life.

Cons

Atria Senior Living does a great job selling you on their mission statement but they don't live up to it. This company is all about the mighty dollar! They verbally abuse and harass their Executive Director's. They have no respect for their employees, you are only good as yesterday's census. They ask ED's to keep residents on census at till the end of month just so they can make their numbers and tell you that the family wouldn't notice because their grieving! There average rental increases year after year are about 8-10% and if you can't afford it to bad! Danny McCoy's favorite saying is if your not in it for the money you are in the wrong company!
