Pros

Bonus/ incentives were great The residents were/are the highlight of any day Sales process was streamlined removing you from the grind of the day to day ops

Cons

Upper management was out of touch with markets. Unrealistic expectations when it came to delivering on sales numbers. Acuity is that if an independent resident but charged assisted living rates. Communication was a constant barrier. One day one directive given the next day it would be contradicted. Senior leadership team was disjointed and appeared to be out of touch with the basics of sales. When asking for support none would or could be given because they (senior leadership) had exhausted all their recommendations. Atria lacks creativity and vision. In my opinion merging with Holiday caused too many growing pains and forced good people out of the door. Lost the customer centric focus and was too caught up in the “liability and risk” associated with residents and their health conditions

Pros

Working with talented people and free lunch at the Support Center.

Cons

To say that Atria is “behind the times” is an understatement. From marketing to sales to IT to Human Resources, Atria has failed to adapt. Company culture is wretched, if not toxic. • The CEO is a disaster. Frequently calls his “inferiors” names during meetings, yells and, despite a first rate PR team, has difficulty pretending that he cares about his employees. • Middle management (those at the VP level) is terrible. They put on a great show, but few seem qualified to do their jobs successfully. And because their superiors have no idea what they do, success is easily faked. • Managing up is impossible because managers and their superiors are impervious to feedback. • Your success is simply not their priority. They need you to work and not complain. • Navigating company politics is not so much a mine field but Sisyphean exercise in futility. • Do not work here if you are apart of any marginalized community —you will be tokenized, taken advantage of and silenced. Atria’s understanding of “DE&I” is so behind that they wouldn’t even know what that acronym stands for.

Pros

The marketing team, objectively, puts out good work. That's the only positive I have.

Cons

Oof. Everyone in that department hates their job, and there are plenty of surveys to back this up. There is no teamwork or sense of unity and other team members will regularly, and gladly, throw you under the bus to save their behinds. Numerous people (myself included) have left due to these issues, and so many more. You will also be expected to work nights, weekends, whatever it takes to make up for the horrific lack of communication that goes on between that entire team. Within the company, the marketing department is seen as a joke because of the astronomically high turnover rate. Just do yourself a favor and don’t join this hot mess.
