Pros

A lot of folk who mean well and want to do right by the kiddos.

Cons

At the end of the day, you can go get your BCBA - cool! But that doesn't mean you know anything about running a company. And that's basically what this shell of a private equity owned business is all about. A few of the highlights! 1) They will change your schedule without consulting you, as if your time is irrelevant. 2) They will break their own HR policies, as long as that makes sense with their own morals - case in note! They blindsided me with four months of 'grievance' one day, all of which was anonymous - totally contravening their own HR policies. 3) They don't know how to run a business. No, seriously, if you take pride in logic, and getting results? Don't work here! None of the management understands a damn thing about running a company. 4) They will ask you to accomplish goals that, once you have completed, will not be recorded at all, or recognized, and then they will ask you to do it again. I'm not kidding ... there is so much misplaced energy in this 'company' it is either sad or pathetic. 5) They won't train you at all. And then, they will bring up new initiatives as if everyone already understood them, even though you don't! Nor were ever trained on these specific tasks. 6) I could go on ... 7) At the end of the day do your own due diligence: this is a company that already payed out over a million dollars in a labor dispute lawsuit (google it). Think about that before you apply. 8) This is a company that has already internalized 'perpetual churn' as part of their business model - and sure! For places like Walmart, or Amazon, that might makes sense ... but not here ... it shouldn't be cool here ... At the end of the day? There are better places you could work for if you truly think ABA is the solution for autism (it isn't). You're call. Do the math, and, if you have another option? Take that!

Pros

Supervisors gave lots of feedback when they were present Thorough training

Cons

Supervisors stopped showing up in person after COVID (but BTs are still expected to be in person) Low pay for emotionally/mentally challenging work Frequent cancellations from clients, and rarely paid for these cancellations Supervisors switched around cases very often, so treatment seemed inconsistent Schedule is flexible but kinda sucks…you would have to drive 30 mins to a 2 hour session, then wait for an hour (UNPAID) and start a new session after 40 more minutes of driving. Not paid for the time sitting around waiting for the next session to start, but not enough time to go home and do your own thing. Lack of community (you’re working on your own 90% of the time)

Thank you for taking the time to share a review; we value your feedback. During COVID, we prioritized client safety by reducing physical attendance at sessions. As we move beyond COVID, we've established routine protocols that have proven effective, making it unnecessary for full supervisor presence at all times. We’ve also made investments in technology since the pandemic to ensure supervisors are still available for questions and assistance as needed. When it comes to compensation, we take pride in offering competitive pay, along with mileage reimbursement to demonstrate our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our Behavior Technicians. Our Client Services team strives to create a fitting schedule based on employee availability, location and client needs. To make schedule adjustments, our Behavior Technicians can simply reach out directly to the Client Services team, and they’re more than happy to help. We wish you the best in your future roles.

Pros

*great for beginners looking to get into ABA therapy

Cons

*no secure schedule. If clients cancel prior you don’t get paid. If they cancel within an hour you only get half pay *supervisors aren’t allowed to give you a good review if you’re applying for another job *nearly impossible to get full time

We appreciate your time at ALP and all of the work you did for and with our families. Supporting our clients and seeing them progress is the best part of being a Behavior Technician! That’s why we dedicate a great deal of time and resources into our initial onboarding and new hire training. We want our employees to feel confident and prepared when going into their sessions. Our Supervisors and Trainers are also available for additional support along the way for those who might need extra help or a refresher on a particular topic. Thank you for your feedback about scheduling. We do have many opportunities currently for our Behavior Technicians to work more hours, so if someone wasn’t interested in working part-time, they have other options! At the end of the day our goal is to provide our employees with a variety of scheduling options so they can work a schedule that fits their needs while providing support to our families. We wish you the best in your next role!
