Pros

good support from direct CDs and strong community from other clinicians

Pros

Will work with part time schedule and good families to work with. In home mostly so lots of natural environment teaching opportunities.

Cons

Not as much contact with supervisors or other colleagues. Driving from client to client takes up a lot of your work day.

Thank you for your years of service and providing amazing support for our Orange County families. We can’t begin to express our gratitude for the contributions towards progress that you made during your time with us. We want you to know, when one of our people find themselves in a unique situation, we encourage them to reach out to their supervisor or Field Trainer for help. Our supervisors and trainers are also available for additional support along the way for those who feel they might benefit from extra help or just a refresher on a particular topic. We also understand driving can be a tedious part of this job, but we make sure all of our Behavior Technicians are paid for their drive time and reimbursed for mileage. Thanks again for your dedicated support during your time at ALP. We wish you the best in your next role!

Pros

You get to work with nice kiddos. You get to see their growth through the programs implemented by your BCBA.

Cons

Scheduling can suck, mileage reimbursement is confusing so you're dealt with wasting your gas and not getting paid properly from it. You're expected to know what to do right when you start, it's overwhelming. If you're working in home, it felt lonely due to not talking to any coworkers, if you're lucky enough you might go to the clinic and you're able to collaborate with other BT's.

Thank you for supporting our families! We appreciate you recognizing one of the many highlights of being a Behavior Technician. At ALP, we all aim for the same goal: client progress. The dedication of our amazing employees is what sets us apart and what we believe makes us special. From a pay perspective, we currently review pay for Behavior Technicians twice a year to ensure we’re in line with industry benchmarks. Our HR team also conducts employee surveys regularly so our employees’ opinions and ideas can be heard. We’re so sorry to hear you’re feeling isolated. Because COVID has changed so many of our daily interactions over the past few years away from in-person to virtual, it can be challenging to feel genuine connections with coworkers. We encourage you to share this with your direct supervisor. Let them know how you’re feeling so they can help find creative ways to help you feel connected to your teammates.
