Shady company

Pros

The pay was decent. They offer no benefits for part time. No stipend for reinforcers. They give approx a 10 dollar stipend for data.

Cons

Communication, training, support, ethics, implementation of ABA in lower level staff, programming. There are too few rockstar supervisors. Some supervisors will not insure that clients are getting sufficient services.

Pros

Doing really important work with these children, not easy but if you care about the cause and have knowledge on how to be successful, then it is worth while, and you'll learn great skills in ABA therapy.

Cons

They are not very professional and many people hired with me were very unaware of aspects of basic psychology or about autism spectrum disorder and seemed ill-equipped during trainings to handle an actual client.

Amazing Career Opportunity

Pros

As a military spouse, I've traveled and worked for many different ABA companies. ALP has by far been the BEST! Being a large company, at times, can shift the focus from the individuals with autism, to financial gains, but this is not the case with Autism Learning Partners. The children are always the priority, and it makes going to work everyday enjoyable. Because the company serves mostly military families, it is understood that PCSing is a huge possibility at any time for staff and families. When I approached this conversation with my supervisor recently, I was met with a list of opportunities with ALP on different military bases all over the world! It is unfortunate that others have not had as positive an experience as mine, but I can assure you that being a military spouse should not be a deterrent.

Cons

If I have to list a con, it would be the work hours. Most sessions are after school hours, which is understandable working with school-aged kids.
