Pros

They give support the first couple of months but after you pretty much have to figure it out on your own. Some of the supervisors were amazing though.

Cons

They are business and sometimes you do not feel like a priority. There is no room for growth or a raise. The times of availability are on their terms.

We want to thank you for playing a crucial role in the families you continue to support. And for the shout-out to our supervisors! We think they’re amazing, too! We’re sorry you felt as if you were ever “on your own.” That is certainly never our intention. If you’re looking for additional help or guidance, we encourage you contact your supervisor. If they aren’t available, you can also reach out to your Clinical Director or Field Trainer to lean in and get additional support. And if you’re looking for career growth, your supervisor and Clinical Director are the people to connect with on that as well! We truly thrive on career progression for all of our employees across the country. We encourage it in a variety of ways, including tuition discounts for continued education, excellent mentorship programs, annual reviews, and advancement opportunities. Thank you again for your continued support of our families!

Pros

Plenty of work available, ok pay

Cons

Was told I should pump my breast milk in my car and store in an ice chest in order to “accommodate” all of the required driving I did to keep up with my 20+ clientele. I am so sad I returned to work after I had my baby, I should’ve never went back. The stress was too great and the work/life balance was nonexistent, this took a toll on my health.

Thank you for your time and service at ALP. We appreciate your contributions to the company and the impact you made on our New Mexico families. Also, congratulations on becoming a mother! We truly hope you and your family are healthy and doing well. We can only imagine how stressful it might be to try and balance being a new mom while working in-home with clients as a BCBA. And it’s because of that, we strive to do everything we can to ensure that our staff is well cared for, and that work/life balance is a priority. For anyone in who feels overwhelmed we highly recommend speaking to their Clinical Director so we can help find the best way to support you. About lactation breaks and location, ALP’s policy is to make the reasonable effort to provide our employees with the use of a private space in close proximity to their sessions. We apologize that this accommodation was not met for you, but our HR team is already working to ensure this doesn’t happen again in the future. We also encourage employees in this situation to notify their Manager and/or Client Services if needed. Thank you again for all that you did for our New Mexico families and we wish you the best of luck in the future.

Thank you for sharing your kind words about our team and working environment. We know how physically and mentally demanding the Behavior Technician role can be at times, but at the same time, how very rewarding and satisfying it is. We understand that some cases can be frustrating, but our leadership has experience dealing with similar situations, so we recommend you reach out to your direct supervisor or Clinical Director for direction. If your situation is so unique that no one on your team has had a similar experience, not to worry! We have a robust, experienced network of BCBAs and ABA professionals you can reach out to and collaborate with through Microsoft Teams or Zoom. We appreciate your dedication to the position and we hope you’ll continue to grow with us and the Indianapolis team!
