Pros

Entry level, you will find a ton of Zoners proud and eager to help people stay on the road and keep lives moving. It's definitely possible to be noticed for hard work and move up quickly. Overall enjoyable day-to-day work and a good intro to the automotive industry.

Cons

It's obvious to employees who pay attention that the higher you look in the company, the less emphasis you find actually placed on the pledge and values that truly keep customers and employees coming in every day. Basic inventory planograms are changed nonsensically, new forms are designed to fill out to track wasted effort/time, and policy is touted then flouted on a whim. That's any big company, right?

Pros

1) Good variety of career paths available to choose between 2) Cross-functionality helps to round out your skillset from merch to supply chain to finance 3) Stable job environment and industry

Cons

1) Culture has gotten pretty toxic 2) Unless you are Director level or higher, you can find much better pay (or at least higher bang for your buck) at most other companies 3) “Good ole boy” system among leadership as well as when it comes to promotions 4) Optics is valued higher than actual substance to the work getting done 5) Outdated tools in helping you succeed at your job 6) It is extremely rare that AutoZone will fire (or move) underperforming employees who have been in the same support roles for 20+ years, so a lot of the cross-functional interactions can be frustrating 7) Higher expectations for category teams vs other departments 8) No bonus for Assistant Category Managers 9) 3-4 days in office (mandatory)

Pros

I enjoy helping our commercial and DIY customers. They are always a pleasure.

Cons

Pay does not align with work being done. I can change up to 5 batteries on a hot day, and I still seem to be only deserving of $11. I also handle commercial calls and transactions but don't see any profit on my end. Management also needs a major improvement.
