Pros

The insurance and the ability to learn more about the industry

Cons

Depending on the district. Certain DMs use company rules as a guideline and manipulate the system. It is overlooked by higher ups and you are considered a trouble maker for pointing out the discrepancies. There is ALOT of politics. If you don't mind not having a voice or a life Autozone is for you! I wasn't a fly by night. I invested over 5 years. When I started it was great, it changed.

Pros

Very little customer interaction, delivered parts to local auto/tire repair shops from Missoula to Florence, company provided truck, generally not very heavy lifting, mostly just picking up parts from the store for 3-4 orders then driving to deliver them. Truck had radio but no bluetooth to hook my phone up to listen to my own music.

Cons

Misogyny, from both coworkers and customers. Was rear-ended in a very minor accident while in work truck. Took all standard protocols that AZ required (get information from other drivers involved, give insurance info from company, take photos with disposable camera provided by AZ, answer all police questions, etc). BEFORE I was taken to a hospital for medical attention, I was driven to another place to get a UA. I had neck and back injuries and the hospital could have easily gotten a urine sample from me at the same time, but making sure I was sober (I was) was more important than my physical health. Pretty disappointing. Injuries resulted in a 2-month no-lift policy which made driving parts no longer an option. Boss offered to switch me to cashier position but I declined, as I have no desire to work retail after years of doing it previously. Left on good terms, but very disappointed in their response to me being physically injured.

Pros

I can't think of a single one, except that there is a meager paycheck involved.

Cons

Very low pay for even an unskilled position, but this one requires extensive knowledge and responsibility. You have to buy your own uniforms, which they describe as a "dress code" so as to not have to supply them. You are responsible to not only be an expert on automotive systems and parts, but all of the retail crap they offer. You have to listen to clients continuously gripe about the quality of Duralast parts, how slow the service is due to understaffed locations, and how terrible and unqualified all of the non-management employees are. Tragically, these are all valid complaints. This position encompasses all of the responsibilities of a Store Manager except hiring, but without the title or pay. I was doing this work in 2019 for $15.25 and hour, in an area where that barely constitutes a starvation wage. One day I asked myself why that was, couldn't think of a good answer, and parted company,
