Exciting time to be at Automation Anywhere

Pros

Very exciting time to be here. Expanding like crazy and the RPA/AI is an amazing industry to be in. There's so much opportunity to thrive in your career. Unlimited PTO, remote working, people are nice to each other - lots of collaboration.

Cons

Growing so fast it's quite chaotic (but that's also a positive!). Poor communication between managers and employees because of this. No 401K matching.

Thank you for the review. So much opportunity is right. Just FYI on the 401k match issue, because it keeps coming up: we're not at the point where we want to divert precious venture dollars into 401k match (because this is essentially tantamount to routing our investor funds into the public equity of other companies). We believe that our compensation package is competitive without the match component. That said, we're always very attuned to the need to stay competitive in this realm, and we've got a great new total rewards leader working on important updates and tweaks that you'll see/hear about soon.

Thank you for the review. Even though we more than doubled the company in 2019 it still often feels like there aren't enough people here to do all the work on our plates. This is the pain of fast-growth. We're still hiring at a rapid clip and hope that this pain will gradually subside.

Pros

Free food trucks once a week (if you want to wait an hour)

Cons

There is an old boys club mentality. Some of the higher up male managers are sexist and say some inappropriate statements to female workers. This happens frequently and nobody says a thing. The company has some really good people but management is heavy at the top, and is far from diverse. The C-level are not leading the company, just has everyone running around in panic "work harder mode". Burn out is around the corner for most. I would also like to add that a manager on a another team thinks he can give me work and tries to micromanage me, while my manager doesn't respond to me questioning it.

Hello Anon -- we don't tolerate the unacceptable behavior you describe (the "inappropriate statements"), so we'd like to learn more about the situation to take appropriate action. Please email the HR leader for your region (see below for the list), and/or our CHRO (Nancy Hauge) to help us address the situation. If you want to remain anonymous that's fine: send the note from a throwaway email address that you register just for the purpose of beginning the complaint. We really want to hear from you and address this serious concern. Regarding your comment on "work harder mode," it's clear from our recent internal survey that some teams at the nexus of many growth-related demands are indeed finding it challenging to establish a healthy work-life blend, and this issue has been raised to the C-level team. Our analysis is that not all teams are feeling the same way -- there are some specific teams that are doing okay on these measures. We are pursuing a variety of remedies, including, but not limited to: hiring additional team members to help with the workload, offering exercise programs, massages, and counseling services to help with stress management, and implementing programs to help the organization align goals so that energies are more focused on fewer priorities.
