      It's a job and some people care

      Cons

      This place consumes your soul. You want to accomplish, add value, create, build and there are obstacles galore from Corporate headquarters, powerhungry finance guards, overworked controlling procurement folks and inefficient and micro-managed IT people. Executives all moved away from the local offices - most all promotions are from the mother ship or of similar language. Morale in most offices is at historic lows.

      Only downsides are those that come with any office job- sitting at a computer all day.

      Pros

      There are some great people to work with, very sharp and great humor. They are not the management, they are team members.

      Cons

      Middle Management is unorganized. The team in Connecticut has dismantled a small gas company in Mass and all but cleared it out. Morale is very low in all of the OpCos. Employees are made to take on extra duties for no extra pay and attempts at appreciation are empty. Procurement processes have become so cumbersome that vendors wait six months to a year to get paid. Hard work is not recognized.
