Pros

-Remote job -I learned new skills

Cons

This company is the definition of “too good to be true.” They are great at selling the AvantStay dream but anyone with the ability to look objectively at their job can see that there are many issues that will eventually ruin the company if not addressed. AvantStay’s cons are - upper management is disconnected from the reality of the markets they supposedly manage. - changing entire workflows and responsibilities at any point and expecting employees and vendors to comply - unfair treatment of vendors (unprofessional field staff in many markets doesn’t know how to speak to vendors with respect). - they will layoff any position without any notice, no job security here. I have had many conversations with employees who have expressed fear of getting laid off, it causes so much anxiety. - no appreciation for the work I was doing with vendors, I guess they assumed that their half baked app replaced the need for vendor management and communication.

Pros

Great coworkers and time off policy

Cons

Terrible leadership Directors and above. The company continues to lay people off with no acknowledgment. Nobody knows who's next and lives in fear for their jobs to the point where I've heard coworkers expressing their fear of going on calls with their managers in case they're next (on the chopping block). Meanwhile on all-hands calls the executive team continues to chant their delusions of how great they are, and how well the company is doing without knowing that most people now get on those calls without cameras on in comparison to when I started 2.5 years ago. Honestly if anyone is reading this that wants to a job here, run and don't look back. Employees are tired, unmotivated and so many people are resigning in addition to the layoffs. It's kinda nuts to think about how much has changed for the worse. When I started, for a good year I couldn't stop talking about AvantStay and how much I loved working here. Now I cringe when people ask about my job that I used to brag about because I absolutely do not feel that way anymore. Shouldn't I be telling HR about this? In a perfect world yeah, but you have all the answers you need when your HRBPs and HR employees are resigning. Even if I did tell them the Directors and VPs would probably laugh it off and not take the concerns seriously. It's always something, some excuse that their employee's opinions aren't valid.

I did not enjoy working for AvantStay

Pros

I met some fantastic people and I am still sad that I don't get to work with them every day.

Cons

I can honestly say that I did not enjoy the year that I worked at AvantStay. I did learn a lot but most of that was me being resourceful and teaching myself. There weren't really learning and development opportunities at the company to really grow your own skillset. I hate to say this but I think the company is pretty racist. Maybe not in-your-face racist, but when you pull the veil back you start to see the systemic issues going on behind the curtain. Everyone that works there is white. There are very few people of color. More than half of the people they have let go are either women or people of color on their team. The leadership team is inept. Seriously. It's just pathetic. No one really has a backbone or agency and they continue to sit around scrambling trying to figure out how to fix things versus actually rectifying their mistakes them. AvantStay also talks about wanting High Performers... This is rich considering their leadership ran good people away, fired loyal employees who worked hard for them, and is currently running the company into the ground. The company has been struggling financially for a while (I have no proof of this but the writing was on the wall for a while). I felt bad writing this review but then I remembered what they did to me during my review or lack thereof and how I was slighted for a promotion and I am happy to share my honest experience.
