Pros

Pros: pay, climate-controlled, decorate own cubicle- unless anyone could stretch their imagination far enough to SOMEHOW appoint themself as offended by it, an even to slow-paced day, casual to bus cas attire, free foods. REVIEW... It's better to cowtow & HOPE that clients choose to GRACE us with replies to issues with specimens than to be ON TOP of the situation & use kind but direct common sense to get cases completed so we don't have to re-address the unfinished cases from the day before or even more importantly, have them expire. Expiring for the STD stuff means that the patient of the doctor who sent in the specimen has to go & waste their time re-exposing their naughty bits to be retested because of laziness or oversight on part of the client office. AVERO has NO set SOP setup as it's been getting worked on for THE PAST 5 YEARS (according to the general manager). So any CSR with a sense of urgency that is anything less than EXTREMELY kidd gloves/cowtowing/submissive & fearful of someone being offended by the truth of urgency- has no script to read or wording to use to sound all powder puff kissy to avoid cracking a client's eggshell fragile sense of righteousness over mistakes that they made repeatedly & sent to Avero to MAGICALLY make cohesive somehow. I do feel I was mislead in what my role was to encompass- was supposed to be contacting doctors about cancer cases but instead ended up a call-center job to nag daily & beg for info to complete paperwork. I was relieved when they ended ties with me (other than the paycheck- as that was good) but nagging & begging doc offices daily is a mind-numbing, tedious, soul-squeezing, whipping. In summary- unless you are really good at sounding overwhelmingly maple candy sweet/completely passive & you don't actually give a rip about the people tied to the names on the cases enough to just blow it off that doctor offices CONTINUOUSLY make the same mistakes/ REPEATEDLY ignore pleas to complete paperwork/ & lazily half-way their parts of specimen submissions, then DON'T bother with a CSR position because they do not appreciate results if they were ACHIEVED via tenacity.

Cons

Cons They abhor tenacity & directness from employees yet tolerate client non-compliance & time-wasting, no SOP, tattle-tale employees, etc.

Pros

It’s a small lab so you are never stuck only doing the same thing all day. The benefits are amazing(great healthcare, 401k match, etc). Opportunities for expanding skill sets abound.

Cons

Yearly raises are a little small.
