Pros

Compensation is the only thing

Cons

No work/life balance. They staff for their low volume months but have peak volume months at almost double the lows. You will be expected to work a lot. No advancement. The facility has no chance to succeed from a managerial standpoint. Managers are hired and fired within 2 years because of business choices from the past. There is very little documentation and no training when you walk in the door so, employees hold all the knowledge. No time- with the lack of adequate number of hands to complete a work week you do not have time to train, develop employees, or go to training to better yourself. All of which further exacerbates employee/management relationships Inadequate maintenance- you'll constantly be fighting failures of equipment and systems because of business decisions to save money over the last 15 years and a lack of enough maintenance personnel.

Pros

Breadth of materials and industry focus is good. Not tied to the fortune of a singular industry.

Cons

Not always a good focus on people and their development. Customers sometimes feel we are arrogant.

Pros

It's a job...really twenty words needed? Let's see...shaded parking, outdoor shaded lunch area....sometimes they BBQ for lunch

Cons

Local management and sales person ( both on salary) could care less about not meeting the numbers and closing the plant one to three days a week... they're not losing money...forcing everyone else to use PTO so they get a paycheck....raises deferred for two years straight now while the company brags about how much profit they made for the shareholders... management closing the plant for 2 weeks at Christmas for his "vacation" and screwing all employees cause they have all been forced to use their PTO up to cover frequent plant shutdowns. Happy Holidays with no paycheck. They keep employees long pass their usefulness in the name of the " good ole boys" club. Management lies to corporate about accident numbers and let's employees know they will be fired if claim made etc etc...the list goes on...Spartech cared for their employees, PolyOne not so much.
