Pros

Good teamwork, good culture, many smart and creative employees mad e Axcelis a great place to work and play.

Cons

Not being competitive has lost Axcelis its market share lead and left them as a distant second in their field. This has left a dark clould hanging of employees head.

Pros

High Tech company with lots of smart people, and interesting technology. Large global install base from years past when they were a market leader. Very nice HQ facility to work in, in a desirable geographic area.

Cons

Company made poor decisions relative to market 10 yrs ago and lost most of market share. Many layoffs have bred a workplace dominated by a clique-culture of the long-timers protecting their jobs at the expense of new hires trying to integrate. Very ineffective at Product management / re-capturing market share Company has way too many VPs for its size. Dysfunctional Top management - They seem content to look for a buyout or else ride the business into the ground.

Compensation Package, Medical Insurance, Opportunities for overtime, Clean working conditions, Professional leadership, Well maintained facility, Excellent cafeteria, Above average new-hire orientation training program.

Cons

Very cold weather. Poorly maintained parking lots. Too much horseplay. Poor communication between staff members and peers working on the same project on different shifts.
