Pros

Working at a company like Taser is a once in a life time opportunity due to the timeliness of the products we are working on. When I started, body cameras were untested and an unknown product. Now they are in the news constantly and are something that both the public and police can get behind. It is so incredibly rewarding to see the work you do actually make a difference that can be measured in studies or viewed in the nightly news. The market has finally caught up to the products we offer, yet we are focused on what is the next industry changing thing we want to deliver. Moreover, the culture here is great. Our work is serious but the people make the environment lighthearted and fun to come into work. The amount of respect around the office is also refreshing. It doesn't matter if you are an intern or C-level exec, your opinion is valued by the content and as long as you are able to defend your actions with tangible rational, failure is not punished, but learned from. Work/life balance is second to none. We just got back from 3 days, all expenses paid, rafting trip in the Grand Canyon as a company. There is unlimited PTO and you are encouraged to take advantage of it. Also working remote or from home is never an issue.

Cons

Pay can be hard to negotiate since we are still smaller and unable to offer as good of packages as the larger tech companies. Communication between teams can sometimes be an issue when dealing with tight deadlines and limited resources.

Pros

I've worked at TASER for a year and have loved every moment of it. TASER has excited, passionate and smart people throughout the company that are dedicated to the mission of improving technology in public safety. I've felt throughout my time that I can speak my mind comfortably and have my opinion heard. The culture and workplace emit positive energy, and coupled with the mission-oriented nature of the company, it makes it easy to come in to work every day and feel like you are making a difference. The fast pace of the company means there are a large variety of projects to work on. Overall, great products to work on, great people to work with, and exciting workplace to become a part of.

Cons

Workplace can be a bit chaotic for those who have a strong desire for rigidity, structure, and process-dependent workflows. The fast pace can be overwhelming to those who are not ready to embrace it and hit the ground running. Growth opportunities/upward mobility within the company is unclear, but most of management is in tune with their employees.

Pros

As an engineer you'll love working at TASER. Our product line is best in class, have a massive positive societal impact, and we do the vast majority of our design and manufacturing in house. Definitely a great place if you enjoy building important new technologies for public safety and want a lot of individual ownership and autonomy.

Cons

TASER is growing rapidly. This is a huge challenge (and opportunity!) so management needs to make sure they handle this growth without losing all the things about our culture that make the company such a great place to work.
