Pros

Clear expectations. Knowing what to do next makes the job easier. The leaders are also easy to reach. There are plenty of opportunities but workflow can be smoother. The salary is decent, with fair policies. Tech-driven approach in banking.

Cons

Good leadership but adjustments can take time.

Pros

My colleagues were generally good to work with. Relatively relaxed hiring standards makes it easy to get a job here with little experience. I generally enjoyed the work that I was doing, but it was super inconsistent. Some days were wildly busy and other days were incredibly slow.

Cons

The leadership team here is grossly incompetent and prone to get angry at lower level workers for their own failings. Their internal moto is literally "Axos isn't for everyone", in the sense it is not the place for people who want to be routinely abused. I highly recommend reading the Hindenburg Research report on Axos as it will give you a good idea of the culture at Axos and how leadership operates. They have documents stored across several different document imaging applications, which wouldn't be so much of a problem if everyone actually had access to them but very few people do because allowing more access would cost them more money. On-boarding was absolutely insane as it took them over 3 months to get me all the software I needed for me to do my job. Most other companies would have had that setup before I walked through the door. In a company-wide survey for 2023, leadership scored a 12% internal approval rating from other departments. In 2024, they refused to put out the exact number because according to my boss it was even worse. The COO is well known for being a yeller. He called a company-wide meeting once just so he could yell at senior staff members for apparently not working hard, even though they are the only people keeping this place afloat. There is a very high turnover rate, especially among younger employees. They pay out performance bonuses 50% cash, 50% stock. Employees have loudly been pushing back on it for years and leadership refuses to change their minds. They offered meetings so employees could give them suggestions to improve employee morale and they shot pretty much every single decent idea down, eventually they quit doing them because employees were getting more and more frustrated. On more than one occasion the leadership team would come to me and demand that I process distributions that were plainly against our own account agreements. They are more than willing to push their employees to cross ethical boundaries if it means they'll make more money. Oh and one of my colleagues found out they were fired mid way through the day when someone on his team processed his final paycheck, then they immediately locked him out of the building before he could get his stuff. If you are still reading this, please just do yourself a favor and avoid working here no matter how desperate you might feel. I worked here less than 2 years and I feel like I aged 10.
